除了英语课外，新修订的义务教育课程设置及比例还体现了其他调整。比如，义务教育阶段的体育课时普涨，其中，原来一、二年级体育课程由每周3个课时调整为4个课时，原来初一、初二、初三体育与健康课程由每周2个课时调整为3个课时。
还有，书法教育以语文课为主，也可在美术、艺术、综合实践活动、地方与学校课程中安排，其中小学6年每天的语文课中要安排10分钟的写字练习。
