考生可把复习分为三个阶段：第一阶段是12月初到1月底，复习重点是职称英语教材;而2月初到3月中旬为冲刺阶段，考生要在前一阶段复习的基础上做一定量的模拟试题，同时 还要丰富解题技巧;最后阶段是3月中旬到明年的4月9日，考生应将教材内容以及做过的题目都重温一遍，并对复习笔记进行整理。
教材、真题双管齐下 职称英语考试中近40%的题目都出自职称英语教材。因此，专家表示，考生最好的复习材料就是国家指定教材。 同时，考生还必须结合真题来进行备考。在大纲中，词汇考查要求为：A级6000个词汇、B级5000个词汇、C级4000词汇。事实上，很多考生的词汇量都未能达到要求。专家认为，考生应该学会选择有用的词汇。
此外，考生在练习真题时，每一份题目都应重复做两到三遍，直至准确率达80%才换新的题目。 选取合适的字典 广大考生在备考时应利用字典配合复习，养成查字典的习惯，以便在考试中更好地发挥。而在挑选字典时可注意以下两点：一、字典单词量不宜过大;二、字典最好有同义词，因为在考试中不管是补充短文还是概括大意都会涉及到同义词的替换。
