在进行的基础复习阶段,很多职称英语学员都是通过单纯的死记硬背来记忆单词的,然而经过一段时间的学习后,却又忘记了已经背过的单词。
单调的背单词就是要记忆的单词是孤立松散的,按照字母顺序排列的,而这些单词和自己没有任何直接的关系,丝毫不能提高自己的兴趣,是个非常被动的过程。
为了解决大家背单词的难题,我们建议大家通过学习和阅读英语句子来记忆单词。
其实,记忆本身是主动的。比如,你对自己非常感兴趣的异性的名字你会很快记住,你对自己痛心的经历会记住,不是因为你重复的次数多,而是因为你是主动的记忆者。再有单调的背单词,即使记忆住了这个单词的含义,但是你不会应用。而且,单词的含义还经常变迁。在语言环境中,单词的含义好比人的角色,一个人你知道他的名字或者护照号,是不能算得上了解了他。因为,他可能是个丈夫,情人,父亲,兄弟,老师 他有不同的角色。
学习职称英语是要自己主动去寻找自己感兴趣的东西,阅读过程中,要非常注意英文的表达。我给大家举个例子。我在阅读 Mark Twain 这本书的时候,看到无数好句子,其中一个是这样的: ...constantly worried about money as her family teetered between near-prosperity and genteel poverty. 这个句子说她的家庭穷不算穷,富不算富,实在是太妙的表达。我就学习,记忆,那个单词teeter就一下子记住了。当我不太拿得准这个单词,就会查字典。
学习句子就不同了,如果你每天阅读一个英文句子,一定超过你背诵二十个单词的价值。学习句子避免了背诵单词的孤立零散的弊端,而且句子给你单词实际的意义。在一个句子中,你完全欣赏单词的美丽。而死记硬背单词好比看一系列死气沉沉的呆板照片。、
