                        Step1.  Warm up:

                        Step 2. Touch, ask, and answer
                        1.     Draw the childrens attention to the pictures at 
                        the bottom of page 9. show your copy of the page.
                        2. Point to the six pictures below it. Explain that who  
                        likes all the activities on weekend.
                        3. Now point to the question,  What does he do on 
                        Sunday? Read the question aloud. Elicit, He goes to 
                        the library.
                        4. Substitute the other activities pictured for going 
                        to the library and repeat the procedure.
                        5. Draw the childrens attention to the second 
                        collection of pictures. Point to the words Monday, and 
                        then to the second question.
                        6. Repeat the procedure used for the first question and 
                        pictures.
                        7. Put the children into pairs to practice the questions 
                        and answers.
                        Step 3. Match and write
                        1.     Review the flashcards for this Unit. Hold up the 
                        flashcard for Monday. Ask, What day is it today? 
                        Elicit, Its Monday. Repeat the procedure for other 
                        flash cards.
                        2.     Hold up the flashcard for Tuesday again. Ask one 
                        of the children, What day is it todfay? Elicit either, 
                        Today is Tuesday.
                        3.     Indicate the child and ask the other children, 
                        What day is it today? Elicit either, Its . or 
                        Today is .
                        4.     Repeat the procedure until you find a child who 
                        knows what day it is today. Write on the board, Its . 
                        Point to the words and read them aloud. Have the 
                        children repeat them after you.
                        5.     Find a child who doesnt know what day it is 
                        today. Write on the board, (Ben) doesnt know what day 
                        it is today. Repeat the procedure used to model the 
                        other sentences.
                        6.     Have the children open their books at page 10. 
                        draw their attention to the pictures. Explain that by 
                        following the connecting lines, they can discover what 
                        each person or week days they dont know. Then they must 
                        answer the questions.
                        7.     Point to the picture of a park, Ask, What does 
                        he do on Friday? The children should answer, We go to 
                        the park.
                        8. Have the children look at the first sentence, write 
                        the  answers.
                        9. Point to the picture of the other place. Ask, What 
                        does he do Saturday?
                        Elicit, He goes to the bank.
                        10.Point to the fourth picture. See if the children can 
                        read it to you. Read the sentence aloud together.
                        11. Have the children answer the fourth question.
                        12. Repeat the procedure for other sentences.
                        Step 4. Lets chant
                        1.     Tell the children that we are going to learn a 
                        chant. Have the children open their books and look at 
                        the pictures at the top of this page. 
                        2. Point to picture 1. Ask the children to describe the 
                        picture.
                        3. Now read the first period , pointing each word. Have 
                        children repeat after you.
                        1.     Play the tape for the first period. Have the 
                        children listen to the chant.
                        5. Play the tape again, stopping after each sentence. 
                        Have the children repeat after the tape.
                        6. Play the tape without stopping this time. Have 
                        children say the chant in a class drill following the 
                        tape.
